Eastrand Paving Project

Introduction

From 2019 to mid-2020 Ramotoho Trading And Consulting undertook a program of work to plan, design and construct concrete foundations and a driveway for Eastrand Paving in the area of Daveyton.

Purpose

The project was mainly for Mayfield Primary School for a foundation in Daveyton, with Eastrand Paving as our contracting client.

The aim of the project was to provide an up to date, safe to the public concrete foundations to bear the school building and improve the general appearance of the site for the benefit of the community.

What did we do?

For a successful project, there are critical steps to follow:

1. Survey the land and take ground levels (for levelling later in the project).
2. Plan and start with a graphical design of the foundation project.
3. Estimate the amount of concrete, reinforcement mesh, mesh spacers and steel reinforcement bars to increase the strength of concrete.
4. We then started with the groundwork preparation.
5. Followed thereafter we laid the concrete (poured as people might say).
6. We carried out a bit of concrete levelling in some areas.
7. Thereafter we floated the concrete to give it a smooth finish.
8. Suspension joints were cut to alleviate any cracks in the concrete, increasing durability.
